This mosque is at one end of the Galata Bridge in the Old Town of Istanbul, next to the Egyptian/Spice Bazaar. It has sixty-six domes and semi-domes. Outside there are many many pigeons. EMINONU, ISTANBUL.

Grand Bazaar- Istanbul-Turkey

The Grand Bazaar is one of the largest and oldest covered markets in the world. Estimates vary as to the number of businesses there are in the market but it certainly is in the thousands. Although there are a vast number of streets and stalls they tend to be located into different sections  where specific types of goods such as leather, carpets or gold will  be grouped together making it easier to find your way around. That said, part of the fun is wandering around and just exploring the bustling streets and soaking up the atmosphere.

The Blue Mosque- Istanbul

The Blue Mosque dominates the skyline of Istanbul and is regarded as one of the most beautiful mosques in the world and one of very few to have six minarets. It was built in the 17th Century for the Sultan Ahmet. Designed by the architect Mehmet Aga it was built on the site of the ancient hippodrone and the Byzantium imperial palace. We visited it on a bright and sunny day in February and also walked through what remains of the Hippodrone next to the mosque.
